White pumpkin plants went in the ground on the 15th (yesterday) rained last night too-unexpected.

Burned up a crap tiller after using a lawn mower in a field to kill all of the ragweed. Less than two weeks old, back to Menard's for a new one.

Big plant seeds got nothing going on. Found out the soil I used in the transplant pots had excess fertilizer dumped in them. I figure that has cost me time. Changed the soil on mother's day. Going to put plastic wrap over the top of the planter I am using; hopefully, that'll jump start our late bloomers. Otherwise, I have to use the excess seeds to get moving.

I have lost more than a week due to this. If I can't get any big ones going, I may be know has the white pumpkin farmer of Grundy/Will counties.

Picts coming soon...I promise. Have to find my Flickr password.

(I was told noon) they unloaded me quickly anyway, and I am now picking up a load in Anderson, IN. Not ready to pick up yet, so they are making me wait. I will end up taking a full 10 hour break here and driving after midnight now. This load goes to a Wal Mart in Brundidge, AL.

It's Wednesday!

I only had five hits yesterday vs. the 7-8/day rolling average. There were 2 hits in New Jersey and 1 each in New York, Pennsylvania, and the United Kingdom.

There were no new counties, though the United Kingdom hit was my 30th. There were 2 sleepers. The UK hit was a 3-year sleeper, but the hit I got in Clinton, NJ - only a few miles from me - clocked in at 6 years, 121 days. The UK hit was also farthest traveled at 3209 miles.

Yesterday was Scrabble in Princeton, and I went 2-1. I lost to a long-time player at our club who was making her return after wintering in Florida (I knew I should've exchanged sooner), beat a newish player, then beat our strongest player. Had he had another vowel, I'd probably have lost.

Keep on Georging!

I am on a new load now, picked up in New Hope, MN and delivers tomorrow in Archbold, OH. Needed directions for the pickup, but I have been to the plant in Archbold before so I know how to get there. I got a bit more than halfway today, to Hampshire, IL and will rest here overnight and head on to Archbold in the morning. I need to be there by noon.

Rainy Tuesday here in New Jersey.

I had 10 hits yesterday, better than the 7-8/day rolling average. There were 5 hits from New Jersey, 2 from Pennsylvania, and 1 each from New York, Maryland, and Massachusetts. There were no new counties. There was 1 sleeper: the last hit of the day yesterday was a 1 year, 220 day sleeper that woke up in Lunenburg, MA. There were no long distance bills.

Last night was the Scrabble club I run at the local diner, but we were almost squeezed out by the crowds. Holy cow, was it busy! After I dropped my stuff off, I went to the men's room, but on the way, I started counting tables. There was a 15 right behind us, along with an 8, and in the other room, there was a 12 and another 8 - I wonder if people were making up for missing Mother's Day? Anyway, the crowds mostly cleared out by 8:30, and it turned into a normal night. I got 2 games in and split a pair.

Keep on Georging!

I hope everyone survived the weekend.

I had 20 hits over the weekend, just about on the 7/day average. There were 10 hits in New Jersey, 3 in Pennsylvania, 2 each in New York and Virginia, and 1 each in North Carolina, Delaware, and California. There were no new counties. There were three sleepers, the longest of which was a 3 year, 77 day sleeper that woke up in Glen Allen, VA. The other two were 1-year sleepers. The farthest traveled bill went 2525 miles to Los Altos, CA.

The weekend was pretty quiet for me. I had most of the time to myself, as my wife was off in New York City, celebrating Mother's Day with her mom and sister. I thought about maybe going to the movies, but didn't. The ones I want to see are ones my wife also wants to see, so I want to be there with her for them.

On Sunday, I was able to avoid the Mother's Day crowds and hunkered down in a Starbucks for most of the day. Once my wife got back, we went out for a BBQ dinner that was outstanding. And I've got leftovers for lunch today. :D

Keep on Georging!
